Pam Stenzel

The Veritas Forum
This site is home to university events that engage students and faculty in discussions about life’s hardest questions and the relevance of Jesus Christ to all of life. The organization sponsors events on numerous campuses. This site not only describes and publicizes Veritas events, but includes numerous recordings of actual forums in mp3 format.
Connect With Kids
Connect with Kids offers great resources for parents and educators. The site features articles, videos, and a free newsletter tracking the latest in trends among today's youth culture. Parents can join a parenting community and educators will find educational offerings. Information about the Connect with Kids television program is also available.

From the folks responsible for the SAT, this site also serves as a valuable resource for information on college transition, particularly as it relates to college academics. Includes special sections for students, parents and educators.
College Walk
This site helps youth workers, parents and college freshman connect with a campus ministry at college. Users can fill out an online form and receive of list of campus ministry opportunities on the campus of their choice. A good way to connect students before they head off to school.
Character Education
Educator's who want to help form student's character education will find this site useful. Their mission is "to provide unique, affordable, compelling Web-based resources to help educators change lives." Character education lessons and ideas are available.
Alliance for a Media Literate America
This is the site for the Alliance for a Media Literate America. They hope to stimulate growth in media literacy across the United States, especially among today's youth. Especially helpful are the 'Media Matters' articles under the News and Issues section.
The Network on Transitions to Adulthood

Founded in 2000, this University of Pennsylvania organization examines the changing nature of early adulthood, and increased difficulty associated with transitioning from adolescence into the early adult years.
Plagiarism.org
While this site markets anti-plagiarism technology for use by educators and content creators, it also offers insight into the growing problem of student plagiarism. Especially helpful are the stats on academic plagiarism.
Scholarship Coach
Created by young entrepreneur Ben Kaplan, this site is designed to help high school students fund their college education through scholarships and grants. While Kaplan does sell his scholarship guides through the site, there's a load of free information on scholarships, financial aid, tuition reduction, college savings plans, etc.
This organization exists to "empower young people to make more informed life decisions, and enable parents and educators to better understand their impact in the lives of young people." ACCC offers educational programs and resources for students, parents and educators.
Abstinence Clearinghouse
The Abstinence Clearinghouse is an association for the abstinence education community, serving agencies and individuals on an international, state and local level. This non-profit promotes the appreciation for and practice of sexual abstinence until marriage through distrubition of age-appropriate, factual and medically-accurate materials.
College Transition Group

The College Transition Group website is a great tool that is intended to help students make an easier transition from high school to college. Founded by high school guidance counselor Eric Bierker, students can find out what to expect when they enter higher education. You can find extensive research as well seminar information on the site.
PlanetAhead
From the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority, this site offers sex and sexuality advice to children and teens in the form of an online comic book featuring sexual superheroes. This is a place to discover the a-biblical sexual values, attitudes and behaviors trumpeted in the mainstream of culture.

The mission of the Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation (CCEF) is to see hearts transformed as God applies his Word to the problems of life. CCEF leads a biblical counseling movement that teaches people how to explore the rich wisdom of Scripture and apply it to the complexities of human life. Their website is home to conference schedules, information on counseling services, academic training, and church support, as well as an on-line bookstore hosting many great publications.
Christian Educators Association International
The vision of the Christian Educators Association International is to serve the educational community by encouraging, equipping and empowering Christian educators in public and private education. A great resource for teachers who are looking to make an impact in the lives of their students. The CEAI encourages Christians to be "salt and light" in public education.

Bully Free is a site committed to preventing and stopping bullying in all environments (i.e., schools, workplaces, etc.). Their goal is to promote the Golden Rule everywhere. Great site for parents, educators, and youth workers striving to create bully free environments.
Good Character
The goodcharacter.com web-site is hosted by Live Wire Media, which, as stated on their website, "produces and distributes educational media for character education, youth guidance, and life skills. Our materials are designed to help young people become caring, respectful, responsible people who think critically, solve problems non-violently, and make choices based on knowing and doing what's right."

Center for the Prevention of School Violence

National Resource Center for Safe Schools

Created in 1984, the NSSC serves as a catalyst and advocate for the prevention of school crime and violence by providing information and resources and identifying strategies and promising programs which support safe schools for school children worldwide. Channel One
The on-line home of the daily news broadcast funneled into middle schools and high schools all across the country. In addition to news, the site offers teen oriented content on life, health, homework and more. Helpful curriculum support materials are also offered for educators to help promote media literacy in the classroom.
