It has been said that we become what we worship. Our calling as people in youth ministry is to lead and equip kids to give worship and glory to God. However, our youth culture, adult culture, and even our church culture seem to promote narcissistic worship of the holy trinity of me, myself, and I. We live in a world that promotes idolatry of self, strong feelings of entitlement, materialism, and selfishness. This just might be the greatest challenge to the immediate and long-term effectiveness of our ministries.
In this seminar, Walt will lead you to an understanding of narcissism, it’s dynamics, and how it is molding and shaping both kids and culture. In addition, he will suggest ministry strategies for effectively leading kids to pursue an integrated faith that directs its worship to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit…rather than to self.
Ministry in a Culture of Narcissism utilizes audio and video clips throughout the presentation.
Presented in 2-3 hours, Ministry in a Culture of Narcissism is suitable for an evening seminar.
