What’s happening with students, cell-phones, and classrooms in your state? As of the recent start of this current school year, 31 states and the District of Columbia now have some kind of restrictions in place regarding cell-phones in schools or in the classroom. Here at CPYU, we think that it’s about time. There are just too many negative outcomes that are being confirmed by both research and experience, and it seems like teachers are now breathing a sigh of relief.

Last spring I interviewed two school administrators from the Delaware County Christian School about their school’s policy, and the way in which the enactment of that policy has created a better environment for student interaction and learning. You will find this discussion helpful in managing cell phone use with your kids, and in the discussions you might be having with your local school administrators regarding cell phones in school.
