Tan Now, Pay Later

Now that summer is over and we are getting into the thick of the fall months, that tan that you and I got from spending more time outside last summer has most likely disappeared. But if you’re someone who likes to have a brown glow year-round, you can always pop into a tanning salon for a few minutes in a tanning bed. But you must beware! We have plenty of information now that tells us that too much time in the sun and/or time spent in tanning beds can not only damage your skin, but leave you dealing with life-threatening skin cancer. Since are kids are growing up in a culture that sets unrealistic and unhealthy beauty standards that include being tan, a growing number of kids are now turning to tanning beds. We need to warn our kids of the dangers, while educating them on the need to care for their God-given bodies, as they are the temple of the Holy Spirit.
