Lancaster, PA: Reclaiming the Soul of 21st Century Kids

October 29, 2016 @ 8:30 am - 4:45 pm

$55 – $85

A CPYU all-day training seminar for youth workers, volunteers, parents, educators, counselors and all others who love and care for children and teens.

The Christian nurture of children and teens is not an easy task. “The wide road that leads to destruction” is attractive and well-traveled. The culture throws all kinds of tough challenges at kids… challenges that pull them away from the flourishing that comes only by choosing to follow Jesus and travel “the narrow road that leads to life.” God calls and uses parents and the church to work together to lead kids into an understanding of what it means to follow Jesus in every nook and cranny of life… including all the new and unique challenges related to growing up in today’s youth culture. Youth specialists Duffy Robbins, Marv Penner, and Walt Mueller will share hope-filled and practical strategies parents of children of all ages and youth workers can use to equip kids to hear and follow God’s voice in today’s world.

Over the course of the day you will be able to choose from the following elective workshop topics:

The Challenge of Church Kids: Moving From The Familiar to Deep Faith
Tarzan Christianity: Helping Kids Survive in the Jungle of the Everyday
Digital Discipleship: Teaching Kids to Use Social Media to the Glory of God
Dancing In The Dark: Equipping Kids to Engage Christianly With Music and Media
Gender Sense: Navigating the Confusing Landscape of Gender Identity Issues
Intentional Parenting: Building Families and Growing Souls
