I’m guessing that by now you’ve already seen the viral video of the moving sequence of events that took place last month in a Little League baseball game after a 12-year-old player was hit in the head by a pitch thrown by another 12-year-old. Oklahoma Little Leaguer Isaiah Jarvis was batting when the errant pitch from Pearland, Texas pitcher Kaiden Shelton hit him in the head, knocking him to the ground. After being tended to and cleared to go to first base, Jarvis saw that Shelton was visibly upset with himself and was crying on the mound. Jarvis called time, walked to the mound, embraced the pitcher, and told him, “Hey, you’re doing great.” Afterward, Jarvis said this: “When I saw him getting emotional , I was just trying to be like Jesus and comfort him and really let him know I was ok. I just wanted to make sure he was okay too.” Wow! Sometimes it takes a child to remind us of what it means to seek first the Kingdom of God, and to bring glory to Him in all we do.
