Parents, I know that most of you are feeling the heavy weight that’s come with parenting during 2020’s coronavirus pandemic. Your work schedules and locations have changed. You’ve had to grapple with new economic concerns. Many of you have had to step up and take the lead in the ongoing education of your kids. You are tired and time is at a premium. In the midst of all this craziness, the temptation will be to let your most important parenting task slide. God calls us to bring up and nurture our kids in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. But with time at a premium these days and our patience running thin, day after day might pass without carving out time to not only tend to your own spiritual lives, but to tend to the spiritual life of your kids. The Psalmist reminds us that God’s word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our paths. Whatever you do, be sure to keep the light shining in your life and in your home. God will use these difficult times to do great work in our families!
