All this week we’re looking at how to talk to our kids about the issue of pornography. My friend Nicholas Black, who helps people deal with sexual brokenness through his ministry at Harvest USA, offers some suggestions on what to tell your kids about the dangers of pornography. Nicholas says that we need to help our kids see that pornography sabotages their future marital relationship long before they’re even married. In other words, a twelve-year old boy who accesses pornography on his smartphone is already jeopardizing his relationship with his future wife. Pornography has devastated the marriages of countless men and women because it was brought into the relationship beforehand, creating a scenario where a person is addicted to pornography, and therefore unable to be fully honest, truthful, and intimate with their spouse. Tell your kids, pornography is an activity done in secret that will never help you in real life. It only isolates you from real people.
