God and the Gender Binary

Back in 2014, Facebook worked with LGBTQ advocates to add additional gender options beyond just the traditional male and female options users could post to their Facebook profile. At that time, Facebook allowed users to choose from a dizzying array of fifty different gender options. Now, Facebook is rolling out additional gender options from which to choose, bringing the total number to as many as seventy-one different choices. In today’s culture, the gender binary of male and female is seen as no longer appropriate or even proper. Instead, gender options are seen to fall on a wide spectrum, with individuals even being encouraged to move back and forth between options based on how they decide to identify at any given point in time. Now, we’re being told that federal documents, including passports, will include a third gender option listed simply as X. Times may change, but God’s word continues to tell us that at creation, he created humans on the binary of male and female.
