One of the unforgettable lessons I remember hearing from the late Christian writer, Dr. John White, was in response to a question he was asked about how he had learned to relate to his own wayward son. White simply said that he had learned to live his life according to this simple yet profound principle: “As Christ is to me, so must I be to my children.” My heavenly father has showered me with tremendous amounts of love and amazing grace. Along with the apostle Paul in Romans 5:8 I have to say, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us”, and in his words to a young Timothy in I Timothy 1: 14 and 15 “The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners – of whom I am the worst”. Because of this, we cannot help but be agents of grace.
