Pornography and Sex Ed

Defend Young Minds is an organization committed to helping parents and other caring adults give young children the information, skills, and mindsets they need to defend themselves against pornography and sexual exploitation. In a recent online call to action, Defend Young Minds reminded parents that during 2022, they must be especially vigilant in this task as exposure to pornography is, as they say, always just two clicks away. Parents are reminded that in today’s world, pornography is actually educational, as what our kids see will misshape their beliefs and their behaviors about sexuality. Without going into detail, Defend Young Minds describes how violent pornography becomes normalized for our kids, which then results in kids mimicking and even expecting what they see online. Parents, keep the smartphones out of the hands of your young kids. And teach them that porn is a fallen expression of God’s good and glorious gift of their sexuality.
