Have you ever experienced a mental fog? Signs of mental fog include issues with memory, attention, concentration, decision-making, and other cognitive functions. New research reports that people who smoke and vape are those most likely to report struggling with mental function, regardless of age. But researchers at the university of Rochester Medical Center found that kids were more likely to experience mental fog if they started vaping before the age of fourteen. While smoking and vaping are risky for everyone, we should be very concerned about kids who smoke and vape because of where their brains are in the process of brain development. The adolescent years are extremely critical for healthy brain development. Smoking and vaping have negative and lasting effects on that process. Parents, we need to go out of our way to warn our kids about the physical dangers of substance abuse, and educate our kids on how to worship God through the stewardship and maintenance of their bodies.
