In today’s rapidly evolving cultural climate, it’s important that we pay attention to the beliefs and behaviors being embraced by our professing Christian children and teens. We want to know how well we are doing at training our kids to live into the Biblical narrative, rather than watching them fall prey to the cultural narrative on beliefs and behaviors. One place where we must be especially diligent is their view on marriage, gender, and sexuality. One recent study found the only thirty percent – or three out of ten teenagers – believe that marriage should be exclusively between a man and a woman. You might think that the statistic would be markedly more encouraging for our professing Christian teens. Sadly, that’s not so. Only thirty-six percent of Christian teens believe that marriage should be exclusively between a man and a woman. As adults, we must know God’s design for marriage. And, we must diligently teach and model that one man one woman design to our kids.
