Another Tragedy. . . Beginning the Day After. . .

It’s all over the news. . . and it should be. And as is always the case in the minutes, hours, days, and weeks after, social media is overflowing with finger-pointing and arguments over solutions. We’ve heard that before, as well. These discussions must be had, for sure. But I would suggest that our first step should be to run and run fast to the soveriegn Lord of all creation. And so, this morning I will simply share these two passages from the Psalms that expose both a profound truth and an earnest resolve. . .

When the foundations are being destroyed,
what can the righteous do?
The Lord is in his holy temple;
the Lord is on his heavenly throne. (Psalm 11:3&4)

O God, from my youth you have taught me,
and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds.
So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me,
until I proclaim your might to another generation,
your power to all those to come. (Psalm 71:17&18)
