Paul Tripp writes these words about the Cross: “In God’s righteous and wise plan, this dark and disastrous moment was ordained to be the moment that would fix all the dark and disastrous things that sin had done to the world. . . The very worst thing that could happen was at the very same time the very best thing that could happen.”
For His first followers, the day between the Cross and the empty tomb must have been unimaginable. We have history and hindsight to give us eyes to see what tomorrow brings. So, with our knowledge of yesterday and tomorrow, let’s use today to ponder the depth of God’s love for us, evidenced through the Cross.
